Mick Schumacher, Newey renew MRF challenge

Mumbai: After Mick Schumacher earned top honours in the action-packed season opener in Bahrain last month, the MRF Challenge 2016 now heads to Dubai for Round Two. The two practice sessions will be held on Thursday followed by the qualifiers and four races over next two days.

Schumacher currently leads the championship with 75 points ahead of Estonian driver Ralf Aron (72), Australia’s Joey Mawson (61) and Great Britain’s Harrison Newey (53).

Newey, son of legendary F1 designer Adrian Newey, started from pole in Bahrain and won the first race comfortably but couldn’t finish one of the races losing steam thereafter. Indian driver Parth Ghorpade will also return to the series for the first time in two years.
