WWE Hell In a Cell 2017 results: Kevin Owens, Shane McMahon steal the show in Detroit

Sami Zayn turned heel as Owens beat McMahon while Jinder Mahal defeated Shinsuke Nakamura to retain WWE championship title.

Detroit: WWE’s latest pay-per-view event Hell in a Cell 2017 witnessed some great matches, title changing hands and enemies becoming friends and new rivalries taking centre stage.

Current WWE SmackDown champion Jinder Mahal managed to retain his title after beating Shinsuke Nakamura. In the most talked about match of the event, Shane McMahon failed to pick up win over Kevin Owens after Sami Zayn turned heel.

Here are the results:

Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin vs The Hype Bros

The event started with Chad Gable (one half of former tag team champions American Alpha) and his new partner Shelton Benjamin beating the team of Hype Bros featuring Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley.

The New Day vs The Usos

The Smack Down Tag team championship witnessed high flying Usos taking on defending champions The New Day. The Uso’s overcame The New Day to win their 5th Tag Team championship.

Randy Orton vs Rusev and Booby Roode vs Dolph Ziggler

In the singles competition Randy ‘The viper’ Orton defeated the ‘Bulgarian brute’ Rusev to win his match, while  Booby Roode handed Dolph Ziggler a beating to secure his maiden win in the  pay-per-view event.

WWE US Championship: Baron Corbin vs AJ Styles vs Tye Dillinger

The ‘lone wolf’ Baron Corbin beat champion AJ Styles and Tye Dillinger to win the US Championship. After failing to cash in on Money in the Bank contract Corbin got yet another title shot after rivalry between him and AJ Styles.  Corbin made use of this opportunity and pinned down Dillinger to win his maiden title in WWE.

WWE SmackDown Women's Championship

Smackdown Women’s Championship title failed to change hands inspite of Charlotte Flair victory over current Champion Natalya. Natalya managed to retain the belt via disqualification.

WWE Championship: Jindar Mahal vs Shinsuke Nakamura

WWE Champion Jinder Mahal faced Shinsuke Nakamura for title. Interference by the Singh brothers and a knee injury to Nakamura saw the modern-day-Maharaja pick up yet another win.

Falls Count Anywhere Hell in a Cell Match : Shane McMahon vs Kevin Owens

The main event witnessed SmackDown commissioner Shane McMahon take on Kevin Owens in a falls count anywhere match. The match was seen as one of the most brutal matches after Kevin Owens had head butted Vince McMahon in the previous episode of Smack Down live.

The match lived up to its billing as both the wrestlers took each other to the limit. The shocking moment of the match was when Sami Zayn intervened to help Owens pick up victory.
