Andhra Pradesh: JC Pavan Reddy terms rival faction unlawful
Mr Galla and Mr Naidu registered the rival APOA under the Andhra Pradesh Societies Registration ACT last year at Kakinada.
Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Olympic Association (APOA) general secretary J. C. Pavan Reddy accused the rival faction led by Galla Jaidev and Purushottam Naidu of acquiring positions as president and general secretary unlawfully, at a press conference here on Saturday. In 2015, K. Jagadishwar Yadav, APOA former general secretary conducted the elections and as per the constitution of Andhra Pradesh Olympic Association and retired justice D.S.R. Varma (former justice of Allahabad, Lucknow and Andhra Pradesh High Courts) had declared C. M. Ramesh, Member of Parliament and J. C. Pavan Reddy as president and general secretary respectively of the APOA.
“Mr Galla and Mr Naidu registered the rival APOA under the Andhra Pradesh Societies Registration ACT last year at Kakinada. Purushottam Naidu is a resident of Tamil Nadu as per the Aadhar card and he is not eligible to be a general secretary of APOA as a non-resident of Andhra Pradesh as per the IOA constitution,” the press release signed by Pavan Reddy stated.
“The parallel body headed by Jaidev and Purushottam even obtained a PAN card in the name of APOA by misleading the Income Tax department when there is already a PAN card in the name of original APOA,” the release said.
Pavan Reddy said: “I am appointing a five-member committee to coordinate with Jaidev & Co. Before the arbitration comes up in three months, the two factions will have a meeting and try to resolve this issue.”
Asked if they would put forward any conditions from their side to the government, Pavan said: “We are ready to follow the instructions of the government.”
