Rs 4 crores raised for TCS World 10K

Bengaluru: The TCS World 10K continued to enhance their reputation as one of the largest charity raising platform in South India by raising over four crores, one crore more than last year, for over 100 civil society organizations and NGO’s.

This year also sees over 75 percent of the contribution coming from individuals raising funds through personal networks Aum Desai, who is the youngest fundraiser at the age of 10, has raised Rs 13,50,000 so far while his grandmother Pramila Desa, who is the oldest fundraiser at 76, has brought in Rs. 5 lakh for Shrimad, an NGO dedicated to education.

Among others, Vidya is raising funds for Baale Mane a foster care under which she herself grew up while Arvind Srivastsav Vijayagopalan, a business analyst in Oracle, is raising funds to assist farmers.

“I believe we cannot change the world but we can change the world around us. Like Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for the companies, everyone needs to have a PSR, Personal Social Responsibility,” he said on Tuesday.

Meanwhile Chairperson of India Cares Foundation, Murray Culshaw stated: “The citizens of Bengaluru are becoming increasingly aware of the challenges facing our city and the need to find solutions. This event provides a transparent and accountable platform for causes to promote their services and for citizens to engage with solutions-by running and donating to a cause of their choice.”
