Sreejesh PR on FIH athletes' committee

The 29-year-old will join the likes of Germany captain Moritz Fuerste in the eight-member committee.

New Delhi: India hockey skipper Sreejesh P.R. has been drafted into the Athletes’ Committee of the International Hockey Federation (FIH), it was announced here on Wednesday.

The 29-year-old will join the likes of Germany captain Moritz Fuerste in the eight-member committee, that acts as a liaison between the world body and the athletes to make sure players have a voice in the sport’s decision-making process.

Said Sreejesh, “We get to work together to develop the game and put forth players’ concerns and suggestions. It’s a great initiative by the FIH to directly involve the players and I look forward to giving my suggestions with the inputs of our coaching staff, my team who I am sure will support me in this new endeavour,” he said.
