Bengaluru: In a see-saw contest the Bengaluru Bulls fell to a yet another defeat in a 22-24 loss to the Jaipur Pink Panthers in their Pro Kabaddi League match at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium on Wednesday.
Conceding their fourth straight loss and the second one at home, the Bulls put up a fight as they held on till the end before Panthers walked away with the spoils.
Skipper Jasvir Singh top-scored for the Panthers along with Rajesh Narwal with the duo garnering five points each.
A super tackle by Amit Hooda in the first half and a joint team effort saw the Panthers romp to six-point lead over the Bulls as the visitors took a 15-9 first half lead after the Bulls had raced to a 5-2 lead to the delight of the crowd.
The Panthers moved at 10-8 before jumping to 13-8 as they took out all the hosts players. But this did not kill the spirit of the home team who started the second half on a positive note. Taking revenge for the first half, the Bulls levelled at 15-all notching up an all out.
From there on the Bulls and Panthers went neck-to-neck, with the home team wresting back the lead at 18-17. It was a nerve-wrecking contest thereon before the Panthers stole to game away with a narrow two point victory.
Divas win
Meanwhile, in the second match of the day, the Bengaluru crowd witnessed the women’s kabaddi match in the league for the first time as Ice Divas defeated Fire Birds 24-14 in a one-sided affair. Skipper Abhilasha Mhatre (5) along with Minal Jadhav (4) and Monu (4) top scored for the Divas.
