Hyderabad gears up for three major running events
The minimum age for participating in the event is 18 years, and registrations have begun, an official said.
Hyderabad: Hyderabad will witness three major running events over the next two months.
The Telangana State police has announced the second edition of the Indian Police Martyrs’ Memorial Run on October 15 from Necklace Road. Registrations have begun for the run which will be held in 2K, 5K and 10K categories.
A police official said the event will be held every year with support from Central Armed Police Forces and Central police organisations to honour personnel who died doing their duty.
The Hyderabad Ultra Marathon is scheduled for November 5 and will have categories of 50K, 25K, 12.5 K and 5K. This will be the first ultra run of the city.

The Freedom Hyde-rabad 10K will be organised on November 26 at Necklace Road and is expected to see more than 15,000 runners. The tagline is ‘Every Step Counts,’ and aims at promoting fitness.
Speaking about the event, Vijay Devarakonda said: “10K Run is another reason that makes our city feel alive... it keeps us young. It’s a fun time to take part in this event.” The event will have three primary categories — Elite 10K, Open 10K with timing chip and Open 5K.
