Karnataka Golf Festival from October 6

The tournament will witness around 496 amateurs from all over the country fighting for the spoils.

Bengaluru: The 8th edition of the Karnataka Golf Festival is all set to tee off at the Karnataka Golf Association from October 6 to 9.

The tournament will witness around 496 amateurs from all over the country fighting for the spoils. Up for grabs will be a chance to qualify for the World Amateur Golfers Championship. The winners will get a spot in the World Finals to be held in Durban, South Africa from October 22 to 29.

The championship will be played in five different handicap categories (0-5, 6-10, 11-15, 16-20 and 21-24), and in individual format over four days. The five top players from each category will represent the country in Durban.

The event in its opening day will see prominent sports personalities including, Syed Kirmani, Venkatesh Prasad, Sunil Joshi, Sujith Somasundar, Erapalli Prasanna, Ashish Ballal and Ashwini Nachappa gracing the tournament.
