Hockey World League semi-final: India thrash Pakistan 6-1 in classification play-off

Saturday's win was the second hammering for Pakistan inside a week after winning earlier match 7-1.

London: India walloped Pakistan 6-1 in in a 5-8 classification play-off in the Hockey World League semi-final in London on Saturday.

India will now face Canada for either a fifth or sixth place finish in the tournament.

Saturday's win was the second hammering for Pakistan inside a week. In the first match between the two sides, the scoreline was 7-1.

Ramandeep Singh scored a brace, while Mandeep Singh, Talwinder, Akashdeep Singh and skipper Harmanpreet Singh scored a goal each. For Pakistan, Ajaz Ahmad was the lone goal scorer.
