Bengaluru: Karnataka girls continued their impressive form with Rishika Mangale powering to the 50m butterfly gold in Group IV before adding the 4x50m medley relay gold in record time on the second day of the 33rd sub-junior National aquatic championships in Pune on Thursday.

Rishika scooped the gold in 33.39 seconds and team-mate Ridhima Kumar, who had won the gold on the opening day took the bronze in 35.12 behind Jahnabi Kashyap of Assam (34.24s).

Karnataka had a fruitful day winning 12 medals on the day — four silver and three bronze — with Utkarsh Patil and Ridhima claiming individual silvering Group III 50m back stroke in 32.43s while Ridhima came in second in 100m freestyle clocking 1:08.56 behind Jahnabi.

Of the seven new meet records that were set on the day the Karnataka relay girls established a new mark clocking 2:30.24 erasing the previous best of 2:30.31 set by their team two years ago.

Meanwhile, Shoan Ganguly kept his impressive form going with a new mark in 200m individual medley in Group III boys.
