Hyderabad: In a major blow to motor sport enthusiasts from the city, their eagerly awaited second edition of Indian Racing League (IRL), slated to be held here on November 4 and 5, has been moved to Chennai as the election code of conduct is in force across the state. The city folk will miss the opportunity to see swanky cars zooming away on Tank Bund.

HMDA officials, “All preparations were in place for the mega event. However, as directed by the Election Commission of India, the race stands cancelled in Hyderabad. It is quite a big setback as all tickets have been sold. IRL organisers have assured to refund the amount.”

November 19 and 20 of last year marked IRL’s Hyderabad debut in the Hussainsagar vicinity.
