HYDERABAD: Telangana State Basketball Association general secretary Norman Swaroop Isaac on Friday said there was no irregularity in operating the association bank account.

Responding to a report “Audit finds misuse of funds at YMCA, TSBA” published in these columns on Thursday, Swaroop Isaac said the TSBA was formed in 2014, post-state bifurcation. He and his son Abhishek Ronald Isaac, who was treasurer, were joint signatories to operate the association bank account.

Though a new treasurer was elected in 2016, his KYC documents could not be submitted to the bank till 2019.

As per the mandate of the association, the account was operated by himself and his son till the new treasurer took charge, Swaroop Isaac said. The accounts of the association for this period was duly audited and submitted to the relevant authorities including the Sports Authority of Telangana State, he said.
