Sama Sathwika advances to quarterfinals

Sama Sathwika continued to deliver match winning performances as she advanced to the quarterfinals of the ongoing Anirudh Desai JVPG All India Men’s and Women’s Rs 12 lakh tournament which is being hosted by the MSLTA in Mumbai. In the second round, Sama was in top gear from the word go. She did not let any chances for her opponent Neeru Rapriya to stay in contention and thus outclassed her in the straight sets with the scores reading 6-1, 6-1.

In the first round too, Sama was aggressive in her approach as she dumped Maharashtra’s Astha Dargude by the wayside. The first set was a close battle, however Sama had the last laugh. She won the other set with ease at 7-6(4), 6-1. Earlier, the Telangana girl qualified for the main draw after playing three rounds and emerging winner in those.
