Sanidhya, Lakshya crowned tennis champions

 Hyderabad: Sanidhya Karantoth and Lakshya Vardhan clinched U-14 girls and boys titles respectively at the Tennis Premier League (TPL) held at the L.B. Stadium on Saturday.

Sanidhya defeated Zoha Qureshi 11-9 in the girls summit clash. In the boys category final, Lakshya got the better of Lakshya Vardhan to emerge champion.

Saketh Myneni, who clinched the Silver Medal at the recently concluded Hangzhou Asian Games in the men’s doubles category, said: “It was brilliant to see such a large number of young tennis players give it their all during the matches. Kunal and Mrunal are transforming the tennis landscape of India through their revolutionary ideas, especially the TPL App. They have taken me through it and it will surely help a lot of tennis players in India to improve their skills drastically and will surely help us to identify and develop the next tennis superstars of India.”

Kunal Thakur, co-founder of the Tennis Premier League said: “Hyderabad traditionally has been a great breeding ground for tennis talent in India, and we got to witness some amazing aspiring tennis players here today who gave it their all during the matches.”

Boys U-14 final: Lakshya Vardhan bt Lakshya Vardhan 11-9.

Girls U-14 final: Sanidhya Karantoth bt Zoha Qureshi 11-9.
