Vijayawada: All India ranking tennis tourney begins

Vijayawada: All India Ranking Tennis Tournament “AISTA-VIJAYAWAD-2017”, to be held under the aegis of Vijayawada Senior Teninis Players Association (VSTPA),  for veterans began on Wednesday. Sports minister Kollu Ravindra inaugurated the tournament at Indira Gandhi municipal stadium tennis complex.
Minister Kollu Ravindra said that Amaravati’s reputation is expanding as it is hosting national events in sports.

He appreciated the organisers of  Aista national-level tennis tournament for veteran and said players participating in the tournament have come from various areas across India. The tournament ends on Nov. 26 and as many as 150 players have participated in the events. Various courts were utilised to complete the tournament as per schedule.

Matches held include  45+ at Indira Gandhi Municipal stadium Tennis Complex, 55+ at Chaya Tennis Academy, Benz circle, 65+ at Vijaya Madhavi Loyola Tennis Academy, 75+ and few 65+ matches at Vijayawada Club, Tadepalli. The final match and distribution of prizes will be on Nov. 26 at Indira Gandhi municipal stadium. N. Bangarraju, V-C and MD, SAAP, Dr. P. Ramesh Babu, president, VSTPA, C. Budha Raju, secretary. APSTPA, Dr. Rama Krishna, organising secretary, VSTPA, were present.
