Roger Federer beat Rafael Nadal in five sets to win the Australian Open title, his 18 Grand Slam title.
So there we have it then! Roger Federer has won his 18th Grand Slam title with a gruelling five set win over his greatest rival Rafael Nadal in the Australian Open final at the Rod Laver Arena.
The 35-year-old becomes the oldest man to win a Grand Slam title in more than 40 years after winning 6-4, 3-6, 6-1 3-6, 6-3. It was his fifth Australian Open title in his ninth Australian Open final against Nadal.
