Premier tennis players from Telangana honoured

Hyderabad: Premier tennis players from the state across all age groups were honoured late on Wednesday, the National Sports Day.

Top five players as per national ranking in Telangana in boys and girls U-12, U-14, U-16, U-18, men and women categories were presented awards at the event organised by Tulasi Sports Foundation and hosted by Vasishta Tennis Academy, an initiative by J. Shiva Kumar Reddy, director of tournaments, Telangana State Tennis Association.

“We will make this an annual event to encourage players. Also, an award to the coach who has done exceptionally well is being planned,” Shiva said.

Following are the awardees:

n Boys U-12: 1. Anirudh Nallaparaju, 2. Vineeth Mutyala, 3. Sri Pranav Tamma, 4. Praneet Singh Bhatia, 5. Venkat Rishi Batlanki.
n Girls U-12: 1. Chandni Srinivasan, 2. Malishka Kuramu, 3. Ikaraju Kanumuri, 4. Saumya Ronde, 5. Nirali Padaniya.
n Boys U-14: 1. Varun Golusupudi, 2. Devaharshith Neelam, 3. Udhbhav Nersu, 4. Varshith Kumar Reddy, 5. C. Aryanth Reddy.
n Girls U-14: 1. Sanjana Sirimalla, 2. Veda Raju Prapurna, 3. Chahana Budhbhatti, 4. Thanushitha Reddy, 5. Abhaya Vemuri.
n Boys U-16: 1. Shashidhar Kota, 2. Iqbal Mohd Khan, 3. Khushal Gentela, 4. Jai Arjun Gollapudi, 5. Billu Shiva Koushik.
