These young players may replace Rohit, Kohli in T20Is!

Hyderabad: These young players might replace modern day greats -- Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who announced retirement from T20 internationals as the two leading run scorers in the format.

'Ro-Ko', as they are popularly known, are the leading run scorers in the T20I format with 4,231 and 4,188 runs respectively. To fill their shoes is a challenge for any young cricketer. However, team India selectors might be looking at these eight potential players.
Yashaswi Jaiswal:
Jaiswal was a part of the T20 World Cup winning squad, but he had not played a single match in the tournament.But his selection to the team, shows the interest of the selectors in him as the next potential opener of the team. The Left-handed batter already played 17 T20I matches and scored 502 runs, which includes a century and 4 half centuries.
Shubman Gill:
Gill, who is team India's acting captain during the Zimbabwe tour, has already proven his capability in his previous appearances. He was also part of team India's travel reserve for T20 World Cup but was sent back home after the league stage. The Gujarat Titans captain played 14 T20Is scoring 335 runs with a century and a half century. He can be considered for both opening and the one down position.
Ruturaj Gaikwad:
The Asian games winning captain, Ruturaj Gaikwad was also a long-time contender to team India's opening spot. He was recently named the captain of Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. With 3 fifties and 1 century, he scored 500 runs in 19 T20Is. He can be considered for both opening and the one down position.
Abhishek Sharma:
The sensation from this year's IPL season, Abhishek has already earned a place in the Young Indian side for Zimbabwe and if he performs well in the series, he might as well cement his place in the T20I side. The young player is being groomed by Yuvraj Singh to fill in the Indian opener position.
Ishan Kishan:
Ishan, who was seen as the next second choice of a wicket keeper-batsmen after Pant, is now ignored from selections to the junior team that flew to Zimbabwe. However, if he resolves issues with the BCCI, Ishan Kishan will be back to the opener race.
Rishab Pant:
Wicket-Keeper Batsman, Rishab Pant, who returned to the squad after a break owing to a road accident. In the recently concluded T20 World Cup, Pant remained the third leading run scorer with 171 runs only behind captain Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav. He was already tried at the number 3 place in the tournament and selectors might continue with the same in the future.
Tilak Verma:
Telugu lad, Verma is a potential contender for the Number 3 spot. He plays for Mumbai Indians in the IPL, where he delivered some promising knocks. Tilak Scored 336 runs with 3 fifties in 16 T20Is.
Rajat Patidar:
Rajat Patidar also looks to fill in for his IPL team-mate Kohli at number 3. He is a promising player who delivered key performances in IPL, but is yet to make a T20I debut.
