A traveller’s chronicle!
Travel blogger and Photographer Devesh Joshi loves exploring the pristine locales in the country through his lens.
The spontaneous decisions that you make can go either of two ways – amazing and extremely disastrous. But in Devesh Joshi’s case, his decision made changed everything. Having done his Master’s in Media Management, Devesh decided to shift entirely to traveling blogging and photography. Traveling the length and breadth of the country and to places abroad, Devesh as been capturing the views, cultures, and people.
"I found out that though I was good at words, I was better at photography." he begins adding that photography was never part of the plan initially. Talking about some of the most memorable clicks he says, "When I started traveling, rather than landscape, I focused more on people. I feel that through them, you can understand the real essence of the place. They show the emotions of the land as well as the culture. I prefer to tell a story through my pictures." Last year, Devesh was part of the Hornbill Festival that happens every year in Nagaland. "I was to do a campaign there. I enjoyed traveling there meeting people and getting to know their stories," he shares adding that only challenge was to get people to pose of pictures.
When asked what makes for a perfect shot, he says, "Though the lighting is crucial, the subject is more important. I find it easier to click the perfect shot when the person in front is comfortable. This can happen only when you can strike up conversations with them." Devesh is of the opinion that the best shot happens only when they are spontaneous. Talking about what’s next for him, “I recently bought a bike. I plan to travel from New Delhi to Kerala, clicking pictures along the way. This will take at least a month and a half.”
