Dhanush-Aishwarya firm on divorce

Actor Dhanush and director Aishwarya appeared in person for their ongoing divorce proceedings at the Chennai Family Court on Thursday, November 21st, unlike previous hearings.

Dhanush arrived around noon. Neither party had attended previous hearings.

Both Dhanush and Aishwarya reportedly informed Judge Subhadevi that they were determined to separate. After obtaining signatures from both, the judge scheduled the final verdict for November 27.

The couple got married on November 18, 2004, with the blessings of both families. After setting couple goals for 18 years, they announced their separation officially in January 2022, on their respective social media handles.

Despite attempts by families and friends to get them to arrive at a reconciliation, Dhanush and Aishwarya remained committed to divorce. They have petitioned to get their 2004 marriage declared null and void.

Despite the breakdown of their marriage, the couple continues to co-parent their two sons, Yatra and Linga, maintaining a collaborative approach to parenting.
