Dhanush-Aishwarya reunion; Did Rajinikanth mediate?

Actor-filmmaker Dhanush may be heading for a reconciliation with his wife, filmmaker Aishwarya Rajinikanth, if recent developments, including a meeting on Diwali day, are anything to go by.

The couple, who separated in 2022 after 18 years of marriage, had filed for divorce by mutual consent in the Chennai Family Court. However, their divorce proceedings have seen multiple adjournments due to the absence of both parties. After they missed court dates on October 7 and 19, and November 2, November 21 has been set as the new date for a hearing. Speculation about their reconciliation surfaced when Dhanush acknowledged Aishwarya’s social media post celebrating Onam. The couple’s no-show at court hearings also led to talk about a reunion. Reports of a meeting on Diwali day at Rajinikanth’s Poes Garden residence added strength to the rumours.

The veteran star reportedly engaged in an open discussion with Dhanush on that day. Sources close to the family indicate that during the meeting, Dhanush shared his perspective with his father-in-law, and apparently made some commitments toward a reunion. The same sources reveal that Dhanush and Aishwarya subsequently celebrated Diwali together with their sons, Linga and Yatra.

Both film personalities continue to maintain active professional lives. Dhanush recently appeared in Raayan and has completed his next directorial project, Nilavukku En Mel Ennadi Kobam. He is awaiting the release of Kubera, directed by Sekhar Kammula.

Aishwarya’s latest directorial work, Laal Salaam, featuring her father Rajinikanth, was released earlier this year.
