Hyderabad: The Bachupally police, along with the Balanagar Zone SOT, arrested four individuals involved in the recent vandalism of a Gandhi statue in the Lake View Colony of Pragathinagar under the Bachupally police station limits on Thursday.

On the night of November 4, unidentified individuals allegedly damaged the Gandhi statue in the Lake View Colony of Pragathinagar, according to the police.

Following a complaint, a case was registered and an investigation was initiated.

On Thursday afternoon, the Bachupally police along with Balanagar Zone SOT, apprehended the four suspects involved in the case. The accused, who have been identified as - Koppadi Naveen, Varalakshmi Narasimha, Tannaru Brahmaiah and Koorala Praveen, are residents of Pragathinagar in Bachupally.

The police seized two motorcycles and four mobile phones from the suspects.

During investigation, it was revealed that the suspects consumed alcohol near the statue. They felt the statue hindered their activities and in frustration resorted to vandalising it.
