Bollywood hero Sanjay Dutt turns villain down south under the baton of Puri Jagannadh in Double ISMART. He and the film’s leading man Ram Pothineni addressed the media after the release of the peppy number ‘Big Bull’ from the movie.

“It is a challenge for me to be working in the South film industry,” acknowledged Sanjay Dutt, but quickly added, “after doing so many films it’s good that I get to play a villain down South. I feel playing a negative character is a good space. Bahut kuch karne ko milta hai...maarne ko milta hai...Maar khane ko milta hai. (You get to do a lot. You get to beat up and also get beaten up).”

Asked if he wanted to play a romantic role, he seemed to be taken aback initially. “Abhi romance… Aap kya bolte ho?” (Romance now? What are you talking about?) On second thoughts, he said, “Haan romance bhi kar lenge agar koi achchi picture aaye” (Yes, I’ll do a romantic role if a good picture comes along.) Explaining that his generation liked to do mass films, he described himself as a ‘massy hero,’ and recollected that he had done Saajan, “a very good film, with good songs. And in that light, “Ek aur kar lenge Saajan!” he promised.

Asked if he had experienced a ‘Double ISMART’ moment in his life, the actor promptly responded that his life was not only ‘Double ISMART’ but 100 times ‘DoubleISMART.’ “But I love it!” he asserted.

On his part, Ram Pothineni, while saying that he enjoyed playing the role that Puri Jagannadh had created for him, emphasised that he does not relate with it in real life. “Please don't follow this character in real life or else you can go behind bars within 30 minutes,” he cautioned.
Double ISMART, which has Kavya Thapar as the leading lady, will be released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam globally.
