Telugu Movie Artistes Association discusses action against actress Hema over drug case allegations; denies her current vice president status.

If reliable sources are to be believed, the Telugu Movie Artistes Association is determined to protect its dignity and image and could consider some kind action against actress Hema who was allegedly involved in Benguluru drug party case.

“Managing committee definitely discussed this issue threadbare and intends to take some action against our member Hema,” said a source who adds, “The issue has been splashed all over the media including national media so action was imminent to safeguard the image of the prestigious guild.” They were even surprised that Hema’s instagram status mentioned her as vice president of Movie Artistes Association. “She is not our vice president and this instagram account could be fake, so we were a bit surprised,” he adds. Maybe, she was holding that position five to six years ago, “It was long long ago,’ he quips.

Now that Hema is going to explore her legal options, the actors guild is weighing its options but rules out a blanket ban. “There were some reports that she would be banned forever which are baseless. It could be a kind of ‘temporary ban’ until she comes out clean in a legal battle,’ he points out. Movie Artistes president Vishnu Manchu is expected to announce his decision formally soon. “He will issue a press statement regarding the same,” he concludes.
