MWC 2016: Samsung unveils Galaxy S7, S7 edge

Samsung launched the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge a day before the MWC 2016 at Barcelona.

1. Samsung launched the flagship Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge alongside the Gear VR and Gear 360 camera.
Samsung introduces the always on display for the first time on its smartphones. Taking advantage of its AMOLED display and power saving chipset features, the display can always be kept on to show you the time and notifications apart from other information without the fear of draining precious battery juice.
Even the case gets smarterThe LED lights animate to give you a lot of essential information including notifications. You can also turn off alarms and answer phone calls by swiping the cover. And with the special icons you assigned to your contacts, you'll know who's calling.
Samsung has made the S7 and S7 edge water and dust-resistant with IP68 certification.
The two flagships will also sport the Fingerprint sensors as featured in the previous Galaxy versions.
The front camera sports a 5MP f/1.7sensor.
The Galaxy S7 and S7 edge can capture sweeping movements in panoramas with motion. All you have to do is swipe the screen or pan your Galaxy S7 and S7 edge sideways.
Samsung promises better low light photography using the f/1.7 lens and larger 1.4µm pixel sensors.
A 12MP sensor along with a second 8MP wide-angle sensor are featured as dual cameras on the rear of the Galaxy S7 devices. Apart from the LED flash, the device will also sport a heart beat sensor.
No more protruding cameraSamsung has managed to keep the camera as close to the rear panel as possible with just a 0.46mm bulge around the camera lens.
Forget running out of storageSamsung has allowed the SIM tray to act as a dual option for storage or SIM card. You can include a 200GB micro SD card for all your photos and videos to reside on your smartphone. 14. The SIM tray can be used for two modesdual SIM or single SIM + memory card.
Wireless charging stays. Samsung has managed to keep the NFC and the wireless charging feature from the S6 on the new flagships S7 and S7 egde.
The S7 and S7 edge will feature a 3000mAh and 3600mAh battery respectively. The batteries are equipped with fast charge technology to ensure you faster charging with their own chargers.
The new CPU and GPU are 30 per cent and 64 per cent faster than its predecessors. Samsung has also increased the RAM from 3GB to 4GB for the new flagships.
Samsung will ship the US version with a Snapdragon chipset, while the rest of the markets will see the custom home-brewed Exynos chipset. Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 / Exynos 8890 Octa. Adreno 530 / Mail-T880 MP12 GPU.
The Galaxy S7 and S7 edge feature a 5.1-inch and 5.5-inch display, both sporting a QHD display with 2560x1440 pixels at 534ppi and 577ppi respectively.
