Apple Watch 1st gen gets additional one-year warranty by Apple
Apple is extending its service coverage for first-generation Apple Watch models facing swollen battery issue to three years
Apple is extending its service coverage for first-generation Apple Watch models facing swollen battery issue to three years after the original date of purchase, reported 9to5Mac.
Apple, which generally offers a service program that covers all its devices for repairs related to expand/swollen battery issues for two years (1 year beyond the 1-year Limited Warranty it provides with all devices), is now providing an additional service coverage extending it to three years form the date of purchase.
“Apple has extended Service coverage to eligible Apple Watch (1st gen) models with an expanded/swollen battery to three years after the original date of purchase. Eligible devices will be covered for two years beyond the original 1-year Limited Warranty,” a note published on 9to5Mac reads.
The issue was raised on Apple forum and by some customers on Reddit back in November last year. However, it is yet not a widespread issue but is experienced only by some first-generation Apple Watch customers.
