ASUS announces Android Wear 2.0 update for it smartwatches
The Android Wear 2.0 update will be released to the ZenWatch 3 and Zenwatch 2 by July.
Android Wear 2.0 promises to be an incremental update for all Android-based smartwatch users. The second version of the smartwatch OS brings support for Android Pay, Google Assistant, a standalone PlayStore, the ability to make custom watch faces and more. However, manufacturers in the world of Android haven’t been able to roll out the update to a majority of prominent smartwatches. ASUS though is ready with the Android Wear 2.0 update.
A recent Twitter post by ASUS suggested the release of Android Wear 2.0 for the ASUS ZenWatch 3 and the ZenWatch 2. ASUS says that the update for ZenWatch 3 is in the approval process and could be rolled out shortly. As for the ZenWatch 2, the Android Wear 2.0 update will be rolled out by July or August.
ASUS ZenWatch users should be on the lookout for notifications on their devices as it will be an OTA update.
