Creative Muvo 2 review: Bluetooth speaker that doubles as an MP3 player
The Bluetooth 4.2-enabled speaker also comes with a Micro SD slot, and built-in MP3 player
Creative has resisted the temptation of gimmicky add-ons to its Bluetooth speaker Muvo 2 — like dancing lights. Nor does it try to double as a table lamp. Instead, the makers go for a spartan, chunky, box-like look that houses solid sound technology within.
The speaker comes with a large passive radiator and 2 full-range drivers that generate a deep, thumping bass belied by the small form factor. You can also connect it to your PC or Mac and customize your audio preference through the Sound Blaster control panel.
The Bluetooth 4.2-enabled speaker also comes with a Micro SD slot, and built-in MP3 player, so that you can directly play songs without connecting to a smart phone. You can also connect two Muvo units wirelessly, to create a sound stage effect. The unit has a dedicated ‘M’ button, through which you can set up one of the Muvo 2 to act as the Master speaker.
Muvo2 puts the functional buttons like power, volume, etc., at the top. The USB charging slot and the memory card slot is housed at the rear with a covered receptacle. Weighing 340g, it comes with a 2,200mAh battery that can last up to 10 hours. You can also use it as a speakerphone for your mobile handset.
The Muvo 2 is now available on Amazon for Rs 8,999. Creative has promised to launch an iOS and Android app that will let users view, browse, and play songs on the MicroSD Card inserted into the speakers.
