The new headphones managed to grab everyone's attention by offering high quality sound and smart functionality. Despite having all these features, there's still one hidden power that the AirPods possess, and people are yet to discover it.

After introducing the Airpods last year, Apple has finally began understanding the woes that Apple users experience. According to a newly published patent, Apple appears to be working on new AirPods technology that won’t just be able to charge Apple’s wireless earphones but also other Apple devices like iPhones, iPads and MacBooks.

The US Patent and Trademark Office recently published a paper that talks about the ‘device’ in question and how it is designed to charge Apple devices wirelessly. “Such devices can include for example portable music players (eg. MP3 devices, Apple’s iPod devices), portable video players (eg. Portable DVD players), cellular telephones (eg. Apple’s iPhone devices), video cameras, digital still cameras, project systems  (eg. Holographic projection systems), gaming systems, PDAs as well as tablets (eg. Apple’s iPad devices), laptops (eg. MacBooks) or other mobile computers,” the patent read.

“Some of these devices can be configured to provide audio, video or other data or sensory output,” the patent further added.

Separately, according to CNBC, Drexel Hamilton analyst Brian White sent a note to investors saying that the 5.8-inch iPhone 8 (or iPhone Edition) will be delayed.

"First off, our smartphone contact believes the 3-D sensing technology and OLED displays will only be offered with the 5.8-inch iPhone 8," White said in a note emailed to CNBC. "However, our contact strongly believes the 5.8-inch iPhone will be delayed by several weeks due to challenges around the 3-D sensing technology but still in time for the December holidays."
