Acer Announces ConceptD

Acer launches full product portfolio designed for creators.

Acer launched ConceptD, a new brand of high-end Windows 10 desktops, notebooks, and monitors that are optimised for graphic designers, filmmakers, engineers, architects, developers and other creators. ConceptD enables designers to get immersed in the creative process and build remarkable things.

ConceptD high-end desktops and notebooks come in a design featuring pure-white or matte-black finishes, with amber-coloured keyboard backlighting, and a clean and thought-out design aesthetic that lets creative professions focus on the design process.

The ConceptD 900 and 500 high-end desktops feature a range of NVIDIA GPUs up to the Quadro RTX 6000, enabling high-end visual effects rendering, complex 3D modelling, simulations, as well as AI and deep learning development. The high core count brings load times down and multitasking to the extreme while achieving enterprise-class reliability, stability, and security. NVIDIA’s latest Creator Ready Drivers bring enhanced app support and performance for studio applications such as Autodesk Arnold, Unreal Engine and REDCINE-X PRO, accelerating creator workflows for video editors, graphics designers, animators and 3D artists, photographers and broadcasters alike.

ConceptD 900

The ConceptD 900 is a high-performance desktop for professionals running multiple complex and demanding applications. Featuring dual Intel Xeon Gold 6148 processors with up to 40 cores, and 80 threads, an NVIDIA Quadro RTX 6000 GPU, and 12 memory slots for a total of up to 192GB1 of ECC memory, it’s perfect for filmmakers, animators, product designers, and architects to get lost in the creative process without worrying about long render times. The ConceptD 900 is also ideal for AI and deep learning developers that need outstanding computing and graphics power. Creative professionals can work with more flexibility with up to two onboard M.2 PCIe slots, plus the efficient chassis design holds up to five storage bays with RAID 0/1-capable drives. Users can expand with extra onboard three PCIe x8 and four PCIe x16 slots.

The ConceptD 900 stays cool while running compute-intensive applications such as rendering and video production through a thermal design that uses six cooling fans to draw air in through the triangular patterned front air panel, circulating it throughout the chassis. The ConceptD 900 features a wiry matte-black metal chassis with amber LED accent on the power button for a sleek professional look appreciated by minimalists.

The ConceptD 900 will be available in North America in May, starting at USD 19,999 (Rs 13,82,690.86); in EMEA in June starting at EUR 17,999(Rs 14,08,285.63); and in China in December, starting at RMB 259,999 (Rs 26,80,199.69).

ConceptD 500

The ConceptD 500 is a powerful desktop for filmmakers, animators, product designers, and creators who want to bring their work to the professional level. It features up to 9th Gen Intel Core processors and GPUs including up to the NVIDIA Quadro RTX 4000 GPUs1 to make workloads and multi-media creation smoother and faster on complex projects so users can focus on the creative process.

Powered by the latest 9th Gen Intel Core i9-9900K processor with 8 cores, 16 threads and reaching up to 5GHz, creator tools and projects run faster, smoother, and more stable on the ConceptD 500. Its multiple CPU cores achieve high single-core speed while staying cool with low heat output and low power consumption. With GPUs including up to the NVIDIA Quadro RTX 4000 GPUs1, it supports four 5K displays (5120x2880 @ 60Hz) with HDR colour, making visual effects, motion graphics, and animation rendering a breeze.

The ConceptD 500 is an expandable desktop designed to grow with users to meet ever-changing workload requirements. With four DIMM slots for up to 64GB 2666 MHz DDR4 memory, it has more bandwidth and capacity for fast performance when working on complex design tasks. The onboard PCIe M.2 NVMe SSD allows for large models and complex 3D rendering in real time.

Optimal thermal ventilation through three cooling fans draws air in through the triangular front air panel, circulating it throughout the ConceptD 500’s chassis. And yet, at a noise level of 40dB, it is still silent enough to be unobtrusive.

The ConceptD 500’s tower features a white finish and smooth curves for a minimalist-inspired design. The compact tower fits in almost any working space, and the top-side features a woodgrain-inspired pattern. Customers can fast-charge modern Qi-compatible devices wirelessly, and the headset cradle uses a thoughtful push pop-out design that gives the freedom to use and tuck it away when not in use.

ConceptD 9, 7, and 5 creator notebooks feature the ConceptD timeless design, and 4K UHD IPS PANTONE Validated displays. Covering 100 per cent of the Adobe RGB colour gamut, creators can be sure that their colours are as accurate as possible. The ConceptD 9

The ConceptD 9 is a creator notebook in an innovative form factor. Featuring Acer’s CNC-machined Ezel Aero Hinge, the 17.3-inch Ultra HD (3840 x 2160) display flips, extends, or reclines, for multiple usage modes. The display is PANTONE Validated and covers 100 per cent of the Adobe RGB colour gamut with unparalleled Delta E <1 colour accuracy. Users can unleash creativity on any one of the usage modes, including display, Ezel, notebook, and stand modes, for sharing, gaming, working, and drawing. It features a Wacom EMR stylus that magnetically attaches to the ConceptD 9, to create an authentic writing and sketching experience. The stylus delivers unsurpassed usability and fast, accurate control with 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity, so creators can design from scratch, take notes, or highlight key areas during concept discussions.

Featuring up to an all-new 9th Gen Intel Core i9 mobile processor, the ConceptD 9 has the power and performance to smoothly run multiple creator tools simultaneously. With NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 graphics, users can accelerate real-time video editing or 3D rendering applications, leaving more time to create. It also delivers accelerated ray tracing so renderers can review lifelike graphics as they are created. The GeForce RTX GPU lets users save time and focus on creativity by accelerating AI features to boost quality and handle tedious time-consuming tasks. Creators can work natively with up to 8K RAW files on the video timeline without dropping frames, pre-caching, or generating proxies. RTX graphics also bring fluid interactivity with large 3D models from the 50 per cent performance improvement in raster performance over previous-generation GPUs.

With up to 32GB of DDR4 memory at 2666MHz and two 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSDs in RAID 0, creators can store projects and numerous videos, and access large files without needing to fumble with multiple external hard drives. ConceptD 7

Featuring up to a new 9th Gen Intel Core i7 processor for premium notebook performance and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 graphics with Max-Q Design, the ConceptD 7 lets creators accelerate up to real-time 6K RED video editing and rendering performance on heavy workflows. It’s easy to carry around, at just 17.9 mm (0.70 inches) thin, and weighing just 2.1 kg (4.63 lbs.). The 15.6- inch UHD (3840 x 2160) 4K IPS, PANTONE Validated display is built for creators, with a wide colour gamut of 100 per cent of the Adobe RGB colour space, and colour accuracy of Delta E <2 for remarkable colour precision.

Ports include a Thunderbolt 3 and MiniDP ports for connecting up to three external displays and features Killer DoubleShot Pro for a strong and reliable WiFi connection. The ConceptD 7 will be available in North America in April, starting at USD 2,299 (1,58,948.26); in EMEA in July, starting at EUR 2,299 (Rs 1,79,879.36); and in China in May, starting at RMB 19,999 (Rs 2,06,159.69).

ConceptD 5

Graphic design is quick and easy on the ConceptD 5 laptop. Users can fine-tune images with professional precision and complete the trickiest 2D graphic design projects in no time with its powerful 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processor with Radeon RX Vega M GL graphics. It’s slim and light, with a modern design that looks great in any workplace, or for working on the go. It features a premium metal chassis with a magnesium-aluminum alloy on top and a palm rest area and a magnesium-lithium alloy on the bottom. Weighing just 1.5 kg (3.30 lbs.), and measuring 16.9 mm thin (0.67 inches), it has a 6.22 mm (0.24 inches) narrow bezel with an 80 per cent screen-to-body ratio.

For creators, colour accuracy is critical for design, and the ConceptD 5 doesn’t disappoint with its 4K UHD PANTONE Validated display. The narrow 6.2 mm bezels give creators more screen to work with and a 100 per cent Adobe RGB colour gamut and colour accuracy of Delta E <2 to ensure faithful colour reproduction. With up to 16GB of DDR4 memory and up to 1TB of responsive NVMe PCIe SSD storage in RAID 0 helps lets users create more. Creators can type comfortably in any environment with the warm amber glow of the backlit keyboard.

The ConceptD 5 comes with a full range of ports, including a USB Type-C Gen 1 supporting up to 5 Gbps data transfers, as well as DisplayPort and power charging, plus offline charging. The embedded fingerprint reader provides additional security through Windows Hello. The ConceptD 5 will be available in North America in April, starting at USD 1,699 (Rs 1,17,465.46); in EMEA in July, starting at EUR 1,699 (Rs 132933.9); and in China in June, starting at RMB 12,999 (Rs 1,34,000.19).

  ConceptD Monitors for Creators

Creators need colour accuracy beyond what most mainstream monitors can offer, and thus Acer created ConceptD UHD monitors. Featuring a remarkable colour accuracy of Delta E <1 and a modern slick, black finish with a wood-patterned base, these new PANTONE Validated monitors are optimised so creators can do more.

The ConceptD CM7321K is a 32-inch monitor ideal for 2D creators. Its VESA-Certified DisplayHDR 1000, 32-inch 4K UHD display delivers 1152 zones of local-dimming with Mini LED technology and DisplayHDR 1000, plus 99 per cent coverage of the Adobe RGB colour space and 89.5 per cent Rec.2020 so creators and filmmakers can bring their ideas to life.

The ConceptD CP7271K is a PANTONE Validated 27-inch monitor optimised for 3D creators. It has an impressive colour accuracy of Delta E <1, a wide colour gamut of 99 per cent of the AdobeRGB colour space, and 93 per cent DCI-P3 colour space. It also features GSYNC Ultimate and DisplayHDR 1000 for unparalleled colour and image detail.

The ConceptD CM7321K 32-inch Monitor will be available in North America in September, starting at USD 2,999 (Rs 2,07,344.86); and in EMEA in September, starting at EUR 3,199.00 (Rs 2,50,297.56), and in China in August, starting at RMB 29,999 (Rs 3,09,244.69).

ConceptD OJO Windows Mixed Reality Headset for Creators

The ConceptD OJO Windows Mixed Reality Headset features a 4,320 x 2,160 display; detachable and swappable head strap design, easy inter-pupil distance adjustment, and a classic white finish. It has a patented built-in sound pipe technology and software-assisted interpupillary distance (IPD) adjustment technology that lets the wearer modify the gap between the eye’s pupil and the display distance for sharper, clearer images and more enjoyable experience.
