Qualcomm unveils Snapdragon 835 with Quick Charge 4.0

Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset has been based on a 10nm manufacturing process.

Samsung will use use the processors in half of its next update of the Galaxy S smartphone that will launch in 2017.

Qualcomm on November 17 unveiled its next-generation smartphone processor Snapdragon 835 with its latest Quick Charge 4.0 technology.  

Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset will be based on a Samsung built 10nm FinFET process, replacing the largely used Snapdragon 820/821 mobile processor based on a 14nm process.

In comparison to Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 technology, the Quick Charge 4.0 is said to provide faster charging ability.It is claimed to be 20 per cent faster and 30 per cent more efficient than Quick Charge 3.0. The Quick Charge 4.0 is also promised to offer greater capability with various devices, cable and charges, with better safety features too. The latest Quick Charge 4.0 technology is complaint with USB Type-C protocol, including USB Power Delivery and Google’s new specification for Type-C charging.
