Gigabyte has recently announced the X399 AORUS Xtreme that fully supports AMD Threadripper 2000 WX series CPUs. The brand has designed this board for overclocking and it comes with 0+3-phase power design that features a direct contact with heat pipes between the two main heat sinks; this assists in better cooling. The main finned heatsink is built from copper which Gigabyte claims increases the heat dissipation area by 300% when compared to traditional solutions.

The X399 AORUS comes with 30mm fans that have been placed under the I/O shield and they will automatically get activated when it is put under a heavy workload. They also help in providing additional cooling to the VRM components.

Since Gigabyte has added a lot of emphasis on thermals, the brand has used a NanoCarbon base plate that assists in lowering the temperature of components mounted on the back of the PCB.

The motherboard features 64 PCI-Express 3.0 lanes; out of which 48 are dedicated to graphics performance, this means that the motherboard will utilise 4-way Crossfire/ SLI in an x16/x16/x8/x8 configuration.

For high-end storage configurations, the Gigabyte X399 features PCIe 3.0 x4 M.2 sockets for NVMe RAID setups. The M.2 sockets come bearing its own heat sink to handle thermal throttling.

For networking, the board features Intel i210AT Gigabit LAN ports and a 10 Gigabit port controlled by an Aquantia AQC107 chip for 10X faster transfer speeds and future-proof network configuration. Also, the board comes with support for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2.

X399 AORUS Xtreme features a colourful multi-zone digital LED light show powered by RGB Fusion technology on display everywhere on the board, with the new added dimension created by underglow lighting. The list of compatible hardware, the multitude of effects, together with the support for external RGBW and Digital LED strips to result in a lighting system with unlimited customization options.

The Gigabyte AURUS Xtreme motherboard is available in India at Rs 37,500.
