Huawei launched the triple-foldable phone called “Mate XT” just hours after the launch of Apple’s iPhone 16. The launch of foldable phone has generated buzz for Huawei.

Huawei is in the midst of a comeback as it reported double digit jumps in revenue as well as in profit in August. The Chinese Tech giant received over 3 million pre-orders for the smartphone. The phone will go on sale from September 20, same date as the iPhone 16.

The price of the triple-foldable phone is high as expected. The base model starts at 19,999 Yuan, which is around Rs 2,36,000. The smartphone will be available only for the Chinese market.

The smartphone features a 6.4-inch display, when folded. It can be used as a 7.9-inch smartphone when partially unfolded. When it is completely opened, it offers the experience of a 10.6-inch tablet and it can be folded in either direction.

The device is 3.6mm thick when it is unfolded and features a dual-hinge design. However, Huawei did not disclose the details of the processor for the Mate XT but it confirmed that it runs on HarmonyOS 4.2.

The smartphone has a triple camera set up, featuring a 50MP rear camera, 12MP Ultrawide and a 12MP telephoto lens with 5.5x optical zoom support. For selfies, there is a 8MP front camera. It also comes with 16GB of RAM, offering 256GB, 512GB and 1TB storage options.

The device comes with a 5,600mAh battery and it supports 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The company claims that the smartphone comes with the world’s thinnest smartphone battery.
