WWDC 2017: Everything Apple may announce next week
Apple is about to commence its annual developer's conference, popularly known as Worldwide Developer's Conference (WWDC), next week.
Google is done announcing company’s future plans at the development front that could be experienced in the upcoming gadgets at Google I/O developers conference held last month. And now it’s time for the Cupertino-based tech giant to take the stage and announce what it has in offerings for developers at their front this year.
Apple is about to commence its annual developer’s conference, popularly known as Worldwide Developer’s Conference (WWDC), next week where a glimpse on how people are going to use iPhones, iPads and watches in the months and years to come and a range of devices in works will be given.
The four-day keynote event will kick off on June 5 at 10:30pm IST at the McEnery Convention Centre in San Jose, California and will last till June 9.
The invitation send out to developers for WWDC 2017 reads, “Technology alone is not enough. Technology must intersect with the liberal arts and the humanities, to create new ideas and experiences that push society forward. This summer we bring together thousands of brilliant minds representing many diverse perspectives, passions, and talents to help us change the world,” hinting similar to Google, artificial intelligence will be the central topic at Apple’s event as well.
iOS and MacOS:
The event, unarguably, has been about new version of Apple operating systems – iOS and MacOS, running Apple devices and what they’ll bring to the devices. Usually by this time hints from inside Apple about the new features of its OS are delivered, but this, it been completely under wraps.
However, looking at the recent updates Apple tries with apps, such as allowing Siri to function with WhatsApp, it is speculated that the firm will integrate Siri in more apps with the upgrade.
Siri-based Speaker:
Apple could reportedly unveil a smart speaker voiced by none other than Siri. The speaker is said to be undergoing production, but not ready to ship until later this year.
The device is said to differ from Amazon Echo and Google Home speakers by offering virtual sound technology and deep integration with Apple’s product lineup. Introduction of the Siri-speaker is believed to beneficial for Apple itself for two reasons: One, it will provide a hub to automate home appliances via Apple HomeKit system. Second, it will help Apple locking customers into its own network services inside home.
New iPads:
Apple is also rumoured to unveil a fresh line-up of iPads featuring a 10.5-and 12.9-inch screen. About four new iPad tablets have been spotted on a French regulatory website, all running on iOS 10. The models were spotted on the website sporting model number A1670, A1671, A1701, and A1709. It is speculated that the Apple will get rid of the bezel around the side of the screen for a bigger iPad display. If Apple manages to get rid of bezels in the iPad, we could hope Apple to attempt for a same design in the upcoming iPhone as well.
Magic Keyboard:
A wireless keyboard, which also rumoured as a "magic keyboard" is tipped to be unveiled at the event.
For now, wait for a couple of days more and stay tuned for confirmation on what Apple actually has in offers for us, this year.
