TCL Communication is reportedly gearing up to launch the successor to last year’s BlackBerry KEYone on June 8 in China, as per GizmoChina. The smartphone is rumoured to be called BlackBerry KEY2.

Sadly, there is not much information about the smartphone. However, rumours suggest that the BlackBerry KEY2 could sport a 4.5-inch LCD panel with a resolution of 1080x1620 pixel and a 3:2 aspect ratio. The KEY2 will apparently be the first BlackBerry smartphone to sport a 12MP+8MP dual rear camera setup. The handset could sport an 8MP front snapper for selfies. Under the hood, the device is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 660 chipset, clubbed with 6GB of RAM. Comparatively, the KEYone packs the Snapdragon 625 chipset, along with 3GB/4GB of RAM. The KEY2 could also feature a physical QWERTY keyboard.

Furthermore, the phone could sport a bigger battery than KEYone. The KEYone is backed by a 3505mAh battery. A fingerprint scanner is rumoured to be embedded in the spacebar. The smartphone is expected to come with a headphone jack on board, as well as a microSD card slot. On the software front, the KEY2 could run on Android Oreo with BlackBerry’s skin on top.

For now, these all are just rumours, stay tuned for more updates.
