With so much data flowing around, the security of that data is a top priority for these organisations and there are multiple challenges they face while protecting the data from hackers, malware, bugs and what-nots.

Deccan Chronicle: What are today’s most prominent endpoint security challenges for

Organisations? How do you plan to address them?

Mr Filip Cotfas: Endpoint security is developing really fast, as organisations focus on protecting their data. Nowadays, companies are more and more aware of how important their data is and most of them are seeking to improve their sensitive data security. Endpoint Protector by CoSoSys is a full-Data Loss Prevention solution and offers multiple functionalities, such as protecting data in motion, data at rest, and providing enforced encryption capabilities. Our DLP solution is extremely granular, allowing the administrator to define rights per Device, User, Computer, and Group or Globally through the network. Data Loss Prevention is a complex technology and we are continuously improving our products based on real feedback from our Customers and Partners. I think our product has the following strong points: the intuitive user-friendly interface is easy to use and fast to deploy, offers granular policies and setting, and a modular approach to DLP.

It's content filtering capabilities for data at rest and in motion range from file type to predefined content based on dictionaries, regular expressions or regulations such as PCI DSS, RBI circular, NIST 800-171, GDPR etc. Endpoint Protector by CoSoSys features several specialized modules which clients can pick and choose from based on their needs: Content Aware Protection allows companies to decide which sensitive data can leave computers by creating policies based on predefined content or compliance regulations such as GDPR or HIPAA. It also logs and reports the transfer of important documents. Device Control is the most granular solution of its kind on the market, allowing administrators to block or limit the use of portable storage devices based on criteria such as device type or serial number as well as based on time or network policies. Enforced Encryption automatically encrypts any USB devices connected to network endpoints, ensuring data can only be saved on encrypted devices. eDiscovery offers the possibility to scan sensitive data at rest stored on employees’ endpoints based on specific file types, predefined content, Regular Expressions, PCI DSS or GDPR protected content and more. Deccan Chronicle:  Globally we have seen a drop in common security threats, but foresee more data breaches - Share your viewpoints on this.

Mr Filip Cotfas: Indeed, data breaches continue to rise and the companies are facing a greater risk than ever of having their data stolen. The increased exposure of sensitive consumer data is serious and the business began to realize how important a Data Loss Prevention solution is for their company. With more frequent data breaches expected in the following months and years, we encourage them to learn from previous incidents to better defend their customer’s data and start taking action in this direction.

Mr Filip Cotfas: Endpoint Protector by CoSoSys is a DLP solution and can be implemented by any company, regardless of the industry. However, some verticals have shown some more interest compared to others, due to the more sensitive content that they are dealing with or due to different industry compliances. The most prominent industries are IT, Government, Banking, Media and Entertainment and Manufacturing, just to name a few.
