Soon you could send 3D selfies on Snapchat
There is a possibility that it may feature the 3D photo technology in one of its upcoming update.
Snapchat has been growing quickly, boosted by its popularity among young people but little did we know that it secretly acquired a 3D photo app maker Seene a couple of months ago. And thus, there is a possibility that it may feature the 3D photo technology in one of its upcoming update.
The startup, Seene, also known as Obvious Engineering, has designed the technology with a vision to capture 3D models using a smartphone camera.
Seene is known for augmented reality apps that uses phone’s camera to recognize a 2D image and inject a 3D object on your phone display. The technology used by Seene enables smartphones to convert into a 3D scanner without using any additional hardware or off-device processing.
Snapchat has made communicating more like a game. Adding Seene’s 3D photo effect in its imaging software would ultimately change the game in future messaging.
