After Instagram, Facebook builds its own version of Snapchat stories
After Instgram, Facebook builds its own version of Snapchat Stories by the name of Quick Updates.'
Facebook’s ‘Quick updates’ creates a special space for users to share photos and videos that would disappear within 24 hours. Much like Snapchat’s ‘Stories’ section, Facebook’s version can be accessed from a button at the top of the feed.
However, unlike Instagram Stories, Quick Updates features its own design style. As informed by Facebook, Quick Updates is merely an experiment shown to some people and that they would move forward with it.
A spokesperson at Facebook told TechCrunch, ‘Quick updates were something we were going to test. It’s an idea we’re not pursuing anymore. We often conduct small tests of new feature concepts, and this particular experience was an old test feature that was shown to some people. We don’t have any plans to launch it more broadly.’
