According to Telegram, it does block terrorist bots and channels, but will not block anybody who peacefully expresses opinions.

Apple has recently eliminated the messaging app Telegram and Telegram X, from the App Store as the app was accused of displaying ‘inappropriate and explicit content’. And even though a lot of people found the absence of the app rather surprising, the   chat app was accused of distributing child pornography being distributed via Telegram’s mobile apps.

Phil Schiller, Apple marketing chief said, “The Telegram apps were taken down off the App Store because the App Store team was alerted to illegal content, specifically child pornography, in the apps. After verifying the existence of the illegal content, the team took the apps down from the store, alerted the developer, and notified the proper authorities, including the NCMEC (National Center for Missing and Exploited Children).”

Both the platforms have been accused of being responsible both the users and platforms involved in delivering images and videos from being shared and from being allowed to propagate in any way whatsoever on the internet.

And this time Telegram hadn’t anticipated the blow which it got. Apple had to pull down the entire app.

Pavel Durov, the CEO of Telegram commented on this sudden action by Apple by saying, “We were alerted by Apple that inappropriate content was made available to our users and both apps were taken off the App Store. Once we have protections in place we expect the apps to be back on the App Store.”
