At the India Gaming Show held at Pragati Maiden in New Delhi, JetSynthesys took the opportunity to launch Sachin Saga VR. It is India’s first multiplayer virtual reality cricket game for mobile devices. Sachin Saga Cricket Champions has become the fastest growing mobile cricket game in India with over 10 million downloads, 200 million gameplays and over 1 billion minutes played. Now, JetSynthesys has decided to bring the experience to the VR market.

The limited edition headset comes with the game as well as support for over 3,000 apps compatible with Google Cardboard. It features a 100 degree field of view, high quality resin lenses and a customised Bluetooth controller. The bundle is now available to purchase from vr.sachinsaga.com at the price of Rs 1,499.
Speaking on the launch of Sachin Saga VR, Sachin Tendulkar said, “With VR, for the first time, the lines between gaming and real blur to give gamers an accurately simulated experience of the stadium, with real-time action right on their mobile screens. I thoroughly enjoyed reliving my matches with Sachin Saga VR, and I am sure it will resonate with cricket fans and gamers all over the world.”

Commenting on the launch, Rajan Navani, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, JetSynthesys said “Over the last year, Sachin Saga Cricket Champions has seen phenomenal success making it one of the most popular cricket mobile games, validated by the sheer downloads and user interest on the platform. Buoyed by this response and euphoria associated with cricket, we are delighted to launch Sachin Saga VR, a first of its kind innovation in the gaming industry bringing gamers closer to their favourite sport and its legend through an immersive social and virtual reality experience.”

After the presentation, I got to play the game in VR. The Bluetooth controller is fully featured and comes with face buttons, an analog stick to aim your shot as well as a trigger. It took me some tries to adjust to the controls and the gameplay, but they were easy enough to understand. At first it looked extremely blurry but adjusting the headset fixed that problem. According to the press release, players will be able to face balls at 150 kph tracked with real-time physics. You have access to over 100 cricket matches in Legend mode or can choose to play against opponents in real world stadiums.
