Skype redesign not a hit among iOS users
This goes with the fact that many people have criticized Microsoft for the design.
Microsoft recently revamped its voice-over IP and instant messaging service, Skype across multiple platforms. This move has been aimed towards the transformation of its VoIP platform into a fully-featured instant messaging solution. But as the reviews go, not everyone is a fan of the revamped design and updated features.
According to the reviews posted in the App store, Apple users are actually very aggravated with Skype’s new design, with some users mentioning the application as “worst Skype ever.”
This goes with the fact that many people have criticized Microsoft for the design, and has also criticized the company for spoiling the experience on Skype and also calling for “Apple and Linux to wipe data off the market.”
Other users have stated that Microsoft is in the process of destroying Skype. They pointed out that since Microsoft purchased the company, the updates have done nothing else than breaking down the application.
“The new design is awful. I've been using Skype for ten years now because it had a simple layout and was easy to use and stabile functioning. This new design has functions that are totally useless and lost many features that I had been using (status: invisible for example, easy to see partnerlist). Skype started downhill when it was purchased by Microsoft and now it seems to have hit rock bottom. One star is too much,” one user has explained.
As of now, the rating for the VoIP/instant messaging application is one star and a half, while other versions are currently at four stars. This shows the disappointment with users concerning the new Skype design, despite the fact that company had hoped things will work out differently.
Furthermore, similar criticism has also been posted on the Google Play Store. Android users have complained of features which seem to be erratic after the new update.
“The new update is horrible, needs a serious reality check. Also it should, in my opinion go back to the way it was before easy to use and a great way of contacting friends by video or call as I have now uninstalled the app because of the new update and won't be installing again until the problem is resolved and you should be able to tap out of Skype but still be able to see people on the video call,” one user explains.
