Reliance Jio 4G data speed fastest in India: TRAI data

As per data collected by TRAI's My Speed app, Jio led the market in 4G download speeds.

Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio has been making the headlines lately. The telecomm operator recently introduced its tempting Jio Prime subscription, taking the market by a storm. Now, as per new data collected by TRAI’s My Speed app, Jio is leading the market as far as the 4G download speeds are concerned.

TRAI published its network data recently which revealed that the Jio network has registered an average speed of 17.427Mbps in February 2017. With this, Jio has managed to beat Idea (12.216Mbps), Airtel (11.245Mbps) and Vodafone (8.337Mbps).

Idea has experienced a rise since December, from 5.943Mbps to 10.301Mbps and 12.216Mbps in the last month. However, Airtel and Vodafone witnessed a fall wherein the former dropped from 11.862Mbps to 11.254Mbps and latter dropped from 10.301Mbps to 8.337Mbps.

Idea ranked first in terms of upload speeds with an average of 7.497Mbps followed by Vodafone (5.236Mbps), Airtel (4.492Mbps) and Reliance Jio (2.208Mbps).

All the four major telecomm operators are battling for supremacy in the Indian sector.
