Reliance Jio recently introduced its new ‘Summer Surprise’ offer, thereby providing free services to Jio Prime members for three additional months. However – after a TRAI order – the company has cancelled its services. Sector-regulator TRAI issued an order asking Reliance Jio to end its complimentary services.

Moreover, non-Jio Prime customers of Reliance Jio will not get free services anymore. The operator’s 100-million subscribers will have to start paying for Reliance Jio services for the first time in six months. The last date of signing up for Jio Prime of April 15, remains the same.

The company has been offering free services for over six months now. Starting with its Jio Welcome offer for the first three months, the company continued with Jio Happy New Year Offer for the next three months. While the free services were to end on 1st April, the operator announced the new Jio ‘Summer Surprise’ offer on March 31, bringing another three months of free services for its customers.

The company has cancelled its promotional scheme, saying that they would obey and pull the freebie-offer as soon as possible. A Reliance Jio statement clarifies, "All customers who have subscribed to Jio 'Summer Surprise' offer prior to its discontinuation will remain eligible for the offer."
