Video: iOS 11 brings the fabled dark mode'
Essentially a smart colour invert option, it makes the white menu backgrounds go black without showing weird colours.
The Apple iPhone is considered one of the best phones money can buy. It is considered to have the best hardware and possibly the most stable software present in the world of smartphones. However, new demands often keep creeping up with the modern times and the latest feature that users look for is the fabled ‘Dark Mode’ – a feature that turns the glaring white backgrounds of the UI into a comfortable black. The good news is that it is now available on iOS 11.
Essentially a ‘Smart invert’ colour option, it lets users switch to an all dark theme for the UI. The new colour invert option works only on the black and white colours of the UI, thus inverting them to opposite colours. The RGB colour palette is left untouched, leading to black menus and backgrounds while retaining the icon as well photo colours.
The new tweak isn’t perfect, with some interfaces appearing weird. But it lets Apple iPhone and iPad users enjoy the goodness of an all black iOS interface. The tweak is only available on the new iOS 11 Preview.
