GoPro Hero5 may feature GPS functionality

The GPS technology that can be used for geo-tagging videos or tracking performance

GoPro cameras are best suited for outdoor environments where high video quality is important for enthusiasts.

GoPro is most likely to name its next action camera as the Hero5, and thanks to few leaks we have an idea about its features that will make you ditch your GoPro Hero4. To begin with, the latest FCC listing indicates the integration of GPS technology that can be used for geo-tagging videos.

The listing also suggests a lighter and thinner form factor, making it even handier than its previous iteration. Recently a video surfaced revealing three sections on a mockup GoPro Hero camera with a touchscreen on the back: GoPro app, Remote and Sniper.

The video also reveals the on-screen information such as the resolution, frame rate and field of view, and only shows 1080p and 30 fps. The new camera is expected to feature the 4K recording, just like its precursor.

Few reports hint that the touchscreen on the new camera will not support BagPac, the LCD screen that attaches to GoPros that don't have a display.
