NVIDIA introduces its most powerful GPU Titan V
The Titan V is priced at $2,999 and is aimed towards AI and scientific simulation processing.
NVIDIA has announced the launch of Titan V and the company touts it as the ‘most powerful PC GPU ever created.’ It is also the first consumer-grade GPU based around Nvidia’s new Volta architecture.
The Titan V is priced at $2,999 and is aimed towards AI and scientific simulation processing. The company claims the new GPU offers 110 teraflops of performance from its 21.1 billion transistors. It has 12GB of HBM2 memory, 5120 CUDA cores, and 640 “tensor cores” that are said to offer up to 9 times the deep-learning performance compared to the previous generation.
NVIDIA is yet to give a word on when Volta might make way into more reasonable gaming-focused GPUs. The company introduced the Pascal architecture with its GTX 1080. Volta GPU production will cost the company more, so the company might want to ride out the Pascal wave as long as possible. The Titan V is already available and is limited to two per customer.
