Nikon launches its latest NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6E lenses
The lens covers a broad range of focal lengths up to 300mm when used with an FX-format camera.
Nikon India, subsidiary of Nikon Corporation announced the new AF-P NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6E ED VR to its existing collection of lenses. With approximately 4.3x telephoto zoom, the lens covers a broad range of focal lengths up to 300mm when used with an FX-format camera. The new lens is also designed with a stepping motor to provide fast, quiet and smooth autofocus (AF) drive for superior photographs.
From intense sport competitions to outdoor zip lining and even white-water rafting, the latest NIKKOR telephoto lens is equipped with Vibration Reduction (VR) function that provides a level of compensation equivalent to a 4.5-stop1 increase in shutter speed. In addition, the SPORT mode normally reserved for super-telephoto lenses has also been built into the VR function. The image displayed in the viewfinder is stabilised so photographers can easily frame the intended shot, even when capturing a subject that is moving rapidly and unpredictably.
Even though the AF-P NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6E ED VR is a telephoto zoom lens that covers a broad range of focal lengths up to 300mm, its meticulously crafted lightweight design provides a weight of approximately 680g2 to give it superior portability, and enable nimble, hand-held telephoto photography. Resistance to dust and drip was considered with the design of this lens, as was the photographer’s comfort and ease of use when a smooth operational feel was achieved for the focus and zoom rings. When used with a DX-format camera, the lens supports a maximum focal length equivalent to 450mm (with conversion to 35mm [135] format), making it easy to utilise the agility of the DX-format DSLR to further enjoy telephoto photography.
Clarity in range: Pick up the lens for a sporting event or a trip to the safaris, and enjoy high-magnification telephoto photography in a range of 70-300mm focal length that comes with a minimum focus distance of 1.2m and a maximum reproduction ratio of 0.25x. Achieve sharp and striking shots with the Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) lens element that suppresses chromatic aberration for superior optical performance; images of a kayaking adventure under the bright afternoon sun will not disappoint.
Smooth operator: Enjoy quiet and smooth AF control that does not compromise on its speed with the adoption of a stepping motor for the AF drive operation. The NORMAL mode built into the lens’ VR mechanism offers vibration compensation with an effect equivalent to a shutter speed of 4.5 stop1 faster for greater control. A SPORT mode is also available with the VR function. Increasing the functionality of the lens is the electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism, ready to ensure precise aperture control as one captures the features of an adrenaline-filled tennis player in a match or the endearing sight of a herd of elephants by the glow of the setting sun.
Practicality focused: Knowing that photographer of the AF-P NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6E ED VR would be out in varying conditions; this lens is also designed with consideration of dust and drip resistance. Complementing the resilient form is comfort with focus and zoom rings that smoothly rotate for operation ease and handling.
In NORMAL VR mode when a DSLR camera equipped with a full-size, 35mm film equivalent image sensor is used. Measured at the maximum telephoto position.
