Microsoft-owned Skype is the service being supported on the major platform such as Android that makes up a large user base for the service. However, some reports are coming in that Microsoft’s Skype Lite app is creating some problem on Android smartphone.
According to PhoneArena, Microsoft’s Skype Lite app is causing the Bluetooth phantom call bug on phones with Android operating system. Some users reported that the phantom call bug on the Android works as soon as they play music over the Bluetooth connection. For example, when a phone is connected to a speaker, it appears to be connecting to a phantom incoming phone call, while the dialer won’t show that the user has received a call. This phantom call would steal audio focus from whatever media the song was playing.
According to the same report, Last month, a thread was started on the Google Issue Tracker site to follow the bug hunt. It was discovered that the Bluetooth phantom call bug on Android can be fixed by uninstalling the Skype Lite app.
The bug is however not affecting the regular Skype, users can replace the Skype Lite with regular Skype. Microsoft has not confirmed the speculation yet but the company might soon update the application with the fix for Bluetooth phantom call bug.
