Instagram's Snapchat clone is more popular than Snapchat itself
Instagram's Snapchat like feature named Stories is gaining more popularity with over 200 million users every day than Snapchat itself
Instagram’s Snapchat like feature named Stories is gaining more popularity with over 200 million users every day than Snapchat itself, which reported 161 million daily active users last month.
Instagram’s Snapchat took a big leap since its launch in August last year, and hit 150 million daily active users in January, amounting to a third of Instagram’s total 600 million users.
Shares of Snapchat-owner Snap fell 1.2 per cent on Thursday after rival Instagram, owned by Facebook made the announcement.
Alongside this announcement, Facebook is copying another Snapchat feature called Snapchat Scissor, launched in December for cutting out a part of image and use it as a sticker. The Instagram “Sticker” will open up a camera, allowing user to click their selfie and turn it into stickers, which could be shared, or pin with a video.
Additionally, Instagram is also launching Geostickers for Chicago, London, Madrid and Tokyo to paste over photos or stories.
