Samsung Galaxy S9 leaks in photos; to retain Galaxy S8's form factor
The Galaxy S9 is believed to retain the S8's design, with slightly reduced bezels and no ugly notch.
After a period of a long month, the world of smartphone leaks and rumours has come back to life; this time with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S9. The Galaxy S9 is expected to be launched earlier than Samsung’s usual launch date of its S-series model and we have come over some CAD pictures showing off the Galaxy S9’s curves in neon green and grey.
Leaked by Slashleaks, the renders show the Galaxy S9 with an identical design to the Galaxy S8. the front is expected to lose fat from the top and the bottom lip while retaining the Infinity Display’s gorgeous curved sides. However, the rear is where things get interesting. The S9 is expected to retain the fingerprint sensor, a feature that was expected to be omitted from the S9 following Apple’s decision to discard the TouchID from the iPhone X.
Apart from the fingerprint sensor, the Galaxy S9 will also be sporting dual rear cameras, which is obvious for a 2018 flagship smartphone. The Galaxy S9’s dual camera is expected to be an improved version of the Note 8’s unit but will be stacked vertically, like that of the iPhone X’s.
However, Slashleaks themselves say that you should not take this render seriously as it’s not from a reliable source. The Galaxy S9 is expected to ditch the fingerprint sensor and introduce some kind of facial recognition technology as well as Samsung’s existing iris scanner.
